Fixed paddles are paddles that are cut at a certain length, specifically for your height. The handle is then glued into the shaft and the paddle is specifically tailored for you. This RYD carbon paddle is extremely light, yet strong and retails at a remarkably reasonable price point for a 100% carbon paddle.
The ‘fixed’ paddle option is a common choice for experienced paddlers who want the lightest weight paddle option. Without the adjustable fittings and a sliding shaft within a shaft to extend the paddle, the fixed paddle is much lighter than the adjustable paddle.
